Groom Brother: years is right Meena that speech was poetry. Come on. How am I supposed to follow that? Yeah All right. Thank you. Everybody don’t mind the notes. Um for everyone that doesn’t know my name is Tom Adams. Kevin’s older brother. Uh where I fall in the line up of all four boys I am the younger middle child. Ah So this is the most attention that I have ever received and I plan on making the most of it. So it feels like it was just last week that Kevin asked me to prepare this speech. What was it? Oh because it was That’s right. Uh when he asked me to speak I was honored. Of course I can honestly say that I would do anything for Kevin. Andi I promise you that has nothing to do with the fact that for the next several decades he’s where I’m gonna get my prescription. So that’s nice. No but seriously putting the speech together was really very easy. Um all I had to do what was kind of look back on our childhoods. Don’t get me wrong. Us for Adams brothers are all very close. Um but when we were younger we sort of split off into pairs. You know Chris and Steve were the two older ones so they tended to stick together eso by default. I got stuck with give. Now from the beginning we were really best friends. I was a little too young to remember this story but I hear stories about how I would help Kevin learn how to get dressed in the morning. You know tie his shoes button up his shirt that sort of thing. And doesn’t he look great tonight but not as good as Pereirinha? Okay Yes. So I also talked. Kevin had a spell. His first word right? Remember what word it was rocket right? I don’t know why the work. That’s the word that we chose. Um but I think what I’m getting at is that if it wasn’t for me if it wasn’t for me Kev still wouldn’t know how to spell and he’d probably still be naked tonight. So you’re welcome everybody. But even though Kevin and I were always paired up growing up there was always stuff that all four of us brothers would do together. For example were a big wrestling household. I mean four boys were big wrestling household whole code and all that type of stuff. Um so when we were all together and started rough housing it wasn’t uncommon for someone to get hurt. Hey and Kevin was the youngest of sometimes he was that person to get hurt. But if he did get hurt we were always there to take care of him. We would say very kind compassionate things like Don’t cry Don’t tell Mom. You’re gonna get us all in trouble. But it’s not as bad as it sounds. Those who know Kevin No he’s a very smart guy. So even though he was the youngest and he might not be ableto out trestle us he was able to outsmart us. For example when we were all wrestling and rough housing my mom always had one cardinal rule for us to follow. You guys remember to us no neck. Don’t don’t touch anybody’s neck. Don’t hurt anybody’s neck. So if Chris Steve and I would start wrestling and rough housing our attention would inevitably you know eventually turn to Kev. And all it took was one look at Kev for him to sound the alarm neck neck neck and and mom would come running to the rescue so that would that would squash that real quick. Um so yeah we had a lot of fun as kids but as we got older I really just couldn’t help but admire the person that Kevin was turning into. Ah college graduate medical student. Really really tall for some reason and sure where that came from. Now nobody knows Uh but really I have been on it. Been in awe for years now about the kind of man that Kevin has become. Huh? Um I remember it. Printers bridal shower speaking to her and problem problem O C. Where’s problem? O C. Area. So I was speaking to problem O. C. And she commented on what a great job we all did. Raising Kevin. How amazing he turned out. Yeah no but I really I told her something that I want to share with you all today. What I told her is that even though even though he’s my little brother sorry. Thank you. I just wanted the free clap. That was all. Now even though he was my little brother I feel like I’ve learned so much from him so I wanted to share some of those things today. First communicate thoughtfully. Um another way. Be careful with your words. My family will tell you in any conversation that Kevin’s a part of. He chooses his words very carefully. He thinks before he speaks and really your words or sometimes all that you have to express your thoughts and your feelings. S O. If you’re not deliberate with your words you’re doing a disservice to yourself and to the person that you’re communicating with. So communicate thoughtfully. Second act with integrity. There’s a famous quote that says integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching the same way that Kevin is careful with his words. He’s very careful with his actions. He’s a good man with a strong moral compass and I can tell you he does the right thing even when no one is watching. And finally think about the long term. This is a big one. Uh when Kevin decided to Goto Medical School. I remember being impressed by his decision but I also felt some anxiety because he was embarking on a journey that would not be short. We’re not be easy and it would not be without some expensive consequences. Uh things didn’t work out but I remember how calm he seemed. Ah he knew it would be a long road but he had faith in himself to reach the destination. All right? He was not afraid to make a choice. Commit to it and see it all the way through. Ah and here we are today witnessing Kevin and Pereirinha embarking on this new journey. Now this new commitment a commitment to love a commitment to friendship. Ah and a commitment to each other. Prayer? No. We’re thrilled to welcome you into our family and we’re thrilled to become a part of yours. You guys have been nothing but wonderful. So kind so accepting. And you really know howto party. You guys really know how to party. Wow. So anyway I just want to leave you with those with those three lessons. Kevin praying and really everybody here tonight. Uh I just invite youto to remember those lessons that Kevin taught may communicate thoughtfully act with integrity and think about the long term. There will always be days that aren’t easy. Uh but together I know that you guys will overcome all obstacles put in front of you. And I know you guys are gonna have a beautiful life together. And I think I speak for everybody when I say thank you guys for letting us all be a part of it. Congratulations. One more time folks. For Mr Tom Adams.
