Surina Sibling: no getting everyone. How is everyone having fun? Uh well I need a moment to catch my breath but doesn’t Serena look absolutely stunning? Yeah Serena I can’t believe I’m standing here on your wedding day. It feels like just yesterday you were my annoying little sister and copying everything I did. And then one day I started to discover that this little girl that used to follow me around was turning into a smart beautiful caring young woman. I have watched you grow over the years into such an amazing individual and someone whose opinion I truly value dearly. Our screaming matches over toys have long been replaced with endless conversations about anything and everything. I’m so grateful to have found a best friend in my little sister while I’m technically from the bride’s side. Wouldn’t any of you may not know is that here in was like a brother to me long before he ever met Serena you see here in and my husband Dave were in medical school together and I first met here in eight years ago. The more I got to know him the more I realized how perfect him and Serena would be together. And so it was over a casual lunch one day that Dave and I schemed to set the two of our favorite people together. Yes they’re such good friends that he came from the bar outside. As many of you noticed you will fight about that later. But I remember the day I approached here in with the idea of meeting Serena. I had planned a whole list of wonderful things to tell him about this perfect girl for him. But even before I could tell him anything beyond her name and what field she was in he stopped me from divulging more. And he asked me a very important question. He told me What do our nails look like? I was like All right I I expect weird things from here and every once in a while but uh I guess his logic was the head of someone always took care of their nails. No matter how crazy things got they were able to take time for themselves and to take care of themselves. Well Serena not only takes care of herself when things get bad but she takes care of everyone else around her as well. And if You know Serena you will know that even if the world is falling apart she will always have her nails done. Oh okay. And in that moment when he asked me about that I knew that the nail gods had given this union their blessing. Here in Serena I am beyond happy for you two and wish you all the love and best wishes in this new journey together. I love you both in here and welcome to the family. Finally I’m so happy to call you my brother officially. Oh man. Oh man where do we begin? So I really have to go the bathroom. I’m gonna keep this short. Just kidding. They told me I had two minutes. I’m probably gonna take like 10 street in here in a serene Serena and hearing it is an honor to stand up here today speaking your wedding. I truly couldn’t be happier for you too. I’m extremely glad we could celebrate this day with our friends and family from not only the tri state area but around the world. We have people from Seattle Chicago’s Francisco Boston Georgia and of course our motherland. India. Thank you all for coming. You know it’s amazing how far some people will travel for a free meal. It takes a lot out of you to plan an Indian wedding and it takes that much more out of you to plan an Indian wedding. For Serena the past 6 to 8 months have been nothing short of a roller coaster. There have been thousands of door slammed in our house yelling about this not being in the contract when it should have been. And this isn’t the contract but it shouldn’t have been. And many offered dinners where Serena was in her mood. And even Dad is scared at making eye contact with all that being said Coupled with the uncertain weather conditions we’ve had There were times where I really didn’t know what was going to happen point regardless of the stress and the weather. Here we are. I knew this wedding was going to happen. I knew hearing wouldn’t let anything stand in his way to marry Serena. That and the fact that we’re Indian and we already paid for everything. So let me tell you about my relationship with Serena. Yeah we first met in the early nineties. Back then I really wasn’t sure of. Serena respected me or even really like me. Growing up we shared a bedroom and she gave me the top bunk bed. Even though I really fought for the bottom one. I think she was just jealous that Mom liked me more and she wanted me to fall off. Nice try. Her respect for me clearly grew as the years passed on because when I was seven years old her along with some of our girl cousins decided to dress me up in a white girl dress for whatever reason. And they also put on pink nail polish. I still to this day don’t know why you did that. I think you just wanted more sisters even though we have 20. So thank you for that also. Thank you for always having my back and acting as a dirt here. Thank you for driving us to school. And more importantly thank you for giving me your class notes in your exams. So I didn’t have to work as hard as you. Thank you for the thousands of dinners that we’ve had. Where we laughed fried everything in between. There’s one that always sticks out to me though dad said something really funny. And Serena for whatever reason decided to spit out her choice 10 feet across the table right at me into my food bypassing Mom and Dad’s. You’re always looking out for me so thank you. That’s forward from the dress incident. The dinner is high school. As the years continued I really thought we were developing a strong relationship. I guess I was wrong though because on my 18th birthday I received a text from Serena saying Happy birthday dot dot dot Mom made me sent this but But I knew that was three in his way of showing her law for me. So I let it go. Today Serena is a married woman. Today’s a day about Serena and the love of her life herself. Oh no no no no. I’ve been here and I’ve been here. I’ve been here here in ever since I met you. I knew you were keeper and right for Serena hair and nose mortgage. Rafi then Serena Knight come no combined and he knows enough about the culture and religion that you could honestly teach. A class hearing also wisely knows the way to St Joe’s. Serena’s heart some popcorn some wine and some shoes all you need. I particularly liked you from the start mainly because you’re sort of that I am that and you’re a Yankees fan. And you always laugh at my jokes even though Serena calls me a name that I can’t repeat because about these here here in your amazing person you’re kind compassionate genuine humbles art caring. And most importantly you put a smile on my sister’s face. So thank you. Here in welcome to the family. I’m fully confident that you will overcome every obstacle that comes in your way Serena And hearing I wish you to all the best together. And I look forward to enjoying this new life with our families as one. I love you both. Mom made me say that.
